How to apply for an MVV, if you plan to study in the Netherlands for longer than 3 months?


You can start the procedure for an MVV in 2 different ways:

Documents required if you apply MVV-Study at NTIO (only under certain accepted conditions):

  1. One MVV application form with one color passport sized photo on a white background taken recently (not longer than 6 months).
     
  2. Original and photocopy of your passport must be valid for at least three months after the expiry date of your MVV.
     
  3. The original and copy of the Admittance Letter from the approved Institution of Dutch Higher Education which explains that you are admitted to the program.
     
  4. Applicants need to show proof of available funds to pay for the tuition fees and cost of living. They can prove funds for cost of living by:
    A. Providing an original of the bank statement not older than 2 months, which statement shows address, telephone number and the name of the bank as well as the bank account number and the balance. The account shall be in applicant's own name.
    B. Sufficient funds for the duration of the study with a minimum of 1 year.
    C. The level of living funds required is for 2008 Euro 640.- per month.
    D. In case you are sponsored by your employer or you have obtained a scholarship from an organization, please attach a copy of the award letter from the sponsor.

  6. Preferable, also a proof that you have already got medical insurance to cover your stay in the Netherlands. If this cannot be arranged beforehand, you will have to obtain insurance immediately when you arrive.  It is not allowed to live in the Netherlands without proper health insurance.
