What is Schengen Visa (short stay visa)?

Schengen visitor visas entitle holders to travel to and through the Schengen member states (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland) for pleasure and/or business purposes and for a maximum stay of up to 90 (ninety) days within 6 months. Employment and stays exceeding ninety days require different categories of visas and are subject to the national visa procedures of the individual member states. Applicants are advised that extensions of visas may only be granted under exceptional circumstances.
