On 10 October 2010, the Netherlands Antilles had been dissolved as a political entity. The Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will henceforth consist of the countries of Aruba, Curaçao and St Maarten and the Dutch public bodies of Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba (the ‘BES islands’).

Travellers who want to visit more than one Caribbean country will need only to apply and pay for a single visa.

But none of the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, including the BES islands, will join the Schengen Area.
